IEEE International High Level Design
Validation and Test Workshop 2003

November 12-14, 2003, Hyatt Regency Hotel, San Francisco, California

HLDVT 2003 will be held in San Francisco, immediately following ICCAD, making it convenient for both local and out-of-town attendees.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

The Hyatt Regency San Francisco is conveniently located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, with easy access by car or public transit. The closest airport is San Francisco International (SFO), about 20 minutes to the south.

Driving

General Driving Directions Provided by the Conference Hotel
In particular, from SFO or ICCAD:

Take Hwy 101 North, follow signs to Bay Bridge.
Before you cross the Bay Bridge, take 7th St. exit.
Turn left on 7th St.
Turn right on Market St.
Continue 1 mile and turn left on Drumm St.
Hotel is on the corner of Market St. and Drumm St.
Parking is expensive at the conference hotel and in San Francisco Downtown in general. You may wish to consider public transit.

Public Transit

The conference hotel is conveniently located adjacent to the "Embarcadero" BART Station. (BART is the Bay Area's subway system.) From any area serviced by BART (including San Francisco International Airport), access to the conference hotel is easy via BART. (BART System Map and Links to Schedules) (Detail map of the location of the Embarcadero Station.)

At San Francisco International Airport, you may need to ride the free AirTrain to the airport BART station.

Unfortunately, BART doesn't extend to Silicon Valley and San Jose, where ICCAD will be held. Here are some inexpensive options for getting from ICCAD to HLDVT:

  • Take a taxi to the Santa Clara CalTrain station. Buy a ticket to San Francisco from the ticket vending machines (cash or credit card). Take a northbound CalTrain to the end of the line in San Francisco (4th and King Streets). From there, take a taxi to the HLDVT hotel (San Francisco Hyatt Regency).
  • You can save a taxi fare from the above plan by riding the free Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority bus number 10 from near the ICCAD hotel to the Santa Clara CalTrain station and then following the above directions. Ask at the ICCAD hotel for a free ride to the "Metro Light Rail Station", or for walking directions to a bus stop for route 10.
  • You can also take light rail from the "Metro Light Rail Station" to transfer to CalTrain at the downtown Mountain View station, but this is likely to be much slower. (Santa Clara Light Rail Map)
  • On the San Francisco end of the trip, rather than taking CalTrain all the way to San Francisco, where the CalTrain terminal isn't in a very convenient location, you could instead buy a CalTrain ticket only as far as the "Millbrae" station. From here, you can transfer to BART and ride BART to the "Embarcadero" station, which is adjacent to the HLDVT hotel.
The website www.transitinfo.org has extensive transit information for the Bay Area.
