|
HLDVT 2004 will be held immediately following ICCAD, in the beautiful and world-renown Sonoma Valley in California's wine country. This location is only 45 miles north of San Francisco, making it convenient for both local and out-of-town attendees. HOTEL INFORMATIONFrom the hotel website: The Lodge at Sonoma Resort & Spa is nestled between the Sonoma and Mayacamas Mountains in the beautiful Sonoma Valley. Merging contemporary facilities with the gracious spirit of California's beloved wine country, the Lodge provides a revitalizing retreat while discovering the many delights of Sonoma County and the San Francisco Bay Area. For more information, visit the hotel website at http://www.thelodgeatsonoma.com. (If you don't have or like Flash support, you can still access some of the hotel pages via this link.) For independent comments about the hotel, Trip Advisor provides reviews and links to several guidebooks and articles. HLDVT'04 has negotiated a special discount rate for the conference hotel. Details will be when registration opens. TRANSPORTATION INFORMATIONThe conference hotel is located in wine country, outside of the most built-up parts of the the San Francisco Bay Area. Unfortunately, this means there isn't a lot of public transport. The easiest way to get to the conference is probably to drive. The hotel website provides detailed driving instructions. If you are arriving or departing from San Francisco International Airport, there is the Sonoma Airporter (1-800-611-4246), a scheduled, shared van service available. They will take you from the airport to the hotel for US$40. You should contact them in advance to make reservations. Coming from ICCAD, other than driving, the easiest, reasonably inexpensive way to get to the conference would likely be to catch a shuttle to San Francisco International Airport, and then catch the Sonoma Airporter as above. A taxi all the way to the hotel from the major Bay Area airports (San Francisco, San Jose, or Oakland) would be very expensive. |
